My name is Tim O.T. The O.T. stands for Over Time because I have a full time job and other side hustles and when I work on my music I'm putting in overtime! I've been making music for over 10 years. I started out listening to Hip Hop in the late 80's. Listening soon progressed to rapping. I would rap over instrumental versions of the hottest songs at the time. Eventually I got tired of rapping over other people's beats and decided to take it to the next level.
I went out and bought my first drum machine. A Boss DR-5. Since then I've invested thousands of dollars into my equipment. Of course it's not the equipment that makes the music sound good but the man behind the equipment. I now use both hardware and software to give me my signature sound.
I consider myself versatile. I can make all different genres of music. My speciality however is Vibe. Not everyone is familiar with the term "Vibe Music" My definition of Vibe is a Melodic, Jazzy, Soulful flava but it's still Hip Hop. Dope enough for an Emcee to rip but melodic enough that an R&B Singer can still get down.
Groups like De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Slum Village. Little Brother, Strange Fruit Project, Lone Catalysts, Reflection Eternal, J.Dilla, Hi-Tek, 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, J-Rawls, Talib Kweli, Asheru, Master Ace, Common, and many others all represent the Vibe.
My mission is to keep the Vibe Alive.
